Volunteering and Becoming a Member
The Tweed Valley Justices Association (TVJA) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing Justice of the Peace (JP) services to our local community. Our members volunteer their time at local shopping centres, helping residents with important legal documents such as statutory declarations, affidavits, and certified copies.

Who Can Become a Member?
Membership is open to all Justices of the Peace (Qualified) in New South Wales who are committed to upholding the responsibilities of the role. We welcome both experienced JPs and those newly appointed, offering guidance, mentoring, and opportunities to gain practical experience.

Member Responsibilities
Members are encouraged to:
- Attend regular meetings with professional development sessions held on the third Wednesday of each month commencing at 5.30pm.
- Participate in community signing at local shopping centres when available.
- Maintain professional standards in line with NSW Justice of the Peace guidelines.
How to Join?
Joining the Tweed Valley Justices Association is simple:
- Complete a membership application form, available through our Contact Us page.
- Provide proof of your JP appointment.
- Submit the form with the annual membership fee of $20 plus a one off joining fee of $25
- Once approved, you’ll be welcomed into our network of dedicated JPs and supported in your volunteer role. Members receive a handbook and a name badge

In 2024-2025, our JPs met with over 7,600 clients and handled over 20,000 documents.
